The Conservatives are calling for a senior Liberal senator's resignation after he speculated that citizens in Newfoundland and Labrador are so fed up with the federal government that they might form a separatist party.

This is absolutely priceless. A Liberal suggesting that Newfoundland should separate.

Too add to the embarrassment he even went future during CTV's Power Play and stated that it was the Bloq that had been propping up the Conservatives for the last three years.

NFLD separating is akin to a 20 year welfare addict winning the lottery and then moving away because they don't want to pay taxes now.

Don't worry, I'd never hold you accountable for the comments of some half senile Liberal senator who's just trying to gain a few brownie points back in his home province.

so guess every Newfoundlander will be labled now.. we really do need a change in how we are governed and we should start by turfing King harper out on his duff.

Plus the heading of the newbot is misleading.. should be a liberal senator's comments. makes it sound like it was the liberal parties statement.. but then the majority on this site are tory lovers

0.5% of ALbertas population wanting a knee-jerk reaction separation compared to 50% of Quebecs population, not to mention a federal and provincial party advocating separation is not grandstanding but hey, great comparison.

You're such a hypocrite. We all know if this was a Conservative talking you'd be calling for his head. You have no credibility.
