METRO VANCOUVER — An Abbotsford man shot to death Monday in North Delta was out on bail on gun and drug-trafficking charges when he became Metro’s latest murder statistic.

Sukhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, 32, was charged last May with seven counts, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, and careless use of a gun.

Under the proposed legislation, the use of a firearm in committing a serious offence will be subject to a significant sentence. If, for example, an offence is gang-related, or if a restricted or prohibited firearm such as a handgun is used, the minimum penalty will be:

5 years on a first offence
7 years if the accused has one prior conviction involving the use of a firearm to commit an offence
10 years if the accused has more than one prior conviction for using a firearm to commit an offence

This wouldn't have happened if he was in jail.

Someone is taking out the trash. I got no problem with that! Just saved us a lot of money and future bullshit.

Doing this in such a public way just encorages the rest of the scum to come to the surface also.

The entire thing tit for tat shootings with 'Bindy' Johal(I think that was the spelling) and his brother back in the early 90s. The one guy who was just out walking his dog got shot as part of it

The 32-year-old’s distraught family referred calls to Delta police on Tuesday, saying they had no idea why he was killed.

He was out on bail for trafficking. The families that protect their kids in this way are just as bad as the gang bangers. But I assume he is related to the infamous Dhaliwals anyway

Do you mean MP Sukh Dhaliwal?

The guy on the far left?

(that look on his face is priceless. He looks like some kind of evil Bollywood mastermind)

He's the one who wrote the letter to the US judge on behalf of a Canadian gangster who got caught in the states

I dont know if he is related to the ones I know...but lets put it this way I dont like him...

Of course I'm not serious that any MP would ever be related to gangs and their criminal activities. Although his support of one paticular gangster is objectionable, I'm sure that was an isolated case.

    I just couldn't resist.. :D

From the description in the article and the pic, I get the impression that it is not a populated location. That being the case i am all for someone...amyone...taking the bastards out to 'the back forty' and putting 'one between the eyes.

Actually it is a main thorough way to surrey and langley...any driver could have been taken out by a stray bullet

The shooting of the UN members wife was right out front of my ex's house at 10:30am...these guys take the opportunity when they get it regardless of collateral damage.

We need Mandatory no bail for weapons charges and legalize and tax the shit out of the crops they are trying to take control of.

Same shit is happening in the less savoury neighbourhoods of Winnipeg.

I posted an article where the BC judges objected to being told they had to sentance for gun crimes. I think that would have disrupted their illegal graft but that's just my opinion. As far as I know, all the gangsters shot were already out on paroll or bail for weapons offenses. Hard to argue with that.
