VATICAN CITY - Israel's chief Rabbinate is resuming dialogue with the Vatican after freezing ties over a Holocaust-denying bishop and the pope will meet major Jewish groups to try to make amends, a Church source said on Saturday.

This is becoming a little too habitual. Insult Muslims, then apologize to Muslims. Deeply disturb Jews, then apologize to Jews. Which group is next?

The Catholic Church has a long list, if they plan on apologizing to every group they've done an injustice to.

Just wait the Jews are going to be running through the streets of Rome, looting, burning and pillaging, demanding the heads of those who deny the Holocaust.

Apparently according to the papers, this Pope is "out of touch" and unlike other popes does not have a admin communications/media type to bring him up to speed on world affairs.

An 80 year old man being out of touch with the rest of the world, who would have thunk it?

I don't think he really wants to be in touch with the contemporary world.

Just give him some rice pudding, and Matlock in Italian he'll be fine... just leave the rest of the decisions up to his goons.

How on earth did we get stuck with this smuck as our Pope? It was almost as if the old gaurd in the church railed against many of the liberal advances that Pope John Paul II had encouraged when they gave this guy the hat. The only positive thing I see with Benedict the XVI is that he's old and he won't be around long ... hopefully.
