A new global survey shows the majority of the world views Canada in a positive light, except we appear to be rubbing the Turks and the Russians the wrong way.

I can just see Taliban Jack standing up in question period and demanding "If this NEO-CON 8O 8O 8O government isn't going to do more to make Russia and Turkey love and cuddle us then when will it do the right thing and step DOWN?!?!?!?!".

And the prats in Toronto-Danforth would just lap it all up.

What? But I don't know if my frail ego can handle not being liked by Turkey. I really need it's approval for my own self esteem . .

oh, wait. It was just gas.

Well this is strange. I'm quite sure there was a lot of people here telling us how Canada was an embarassment and was looked down upon by the world.

Who said that? In fact most people here believe that Canada is held in higher esteem then we really are.

The real question is why we are held in such esteem and it has far more to do with what we don't do then what we do as a country.

I couldnt' tell you who's said it but I'm quite sure there has been people on this site who've said certain things Canada has done has made them an embarassment. I think us being in Afghanistan would have been one of those reasons. It's good to see that that opinion is false.
