"Front and centre would be the economic issues and the trade issues, " NDP Leader Jack Layton said of his potential meeting.

"I wrote to him before his election to suggest that reopening NAFTA to improve the environmental and labour protection features would be a very good idea, so we'd certainly indicate our own willingness to help in that area."

Oh he's going to reopen NAFTA and put it right up your ass Jack, You'll see

"If Stephen Harper is the only one to greet Obama that would be sad commentary on this nation's reception of him coming to Canada," Sherman said.
What... are we expected to turn out in the millions for an American president? Move there and you can go see him EVERY single day...

No shit, this is Canada. Most of us don't give a shit about a foreign leader.

Better still, I hope these loons "show him the love" and bum-rush his convoy in Ottawa like it's a G-Damned Jonas Brothers concert or whatever else these folks use to fill their empty lives and get "Tazed" by the Secret Service who then get high-fives from the RCMP hahahaha

As long as he doesn't get shot on Canadian soil, I wish him a short and educational visit to Canada and a swift boot in his ass on his way out.

It's funny that the same lefties who want to worship him are the same who perpetually bad-mouth the US. There's going to have to be a huge emotional upset when they find out that he's just another US president and not the messiah.

You can smell the conservatives' fear - no, their panic - in this thread. :D

No doubt, most Canadians don't give a shit about our own leaders either...

Democrats Abroad is made up of Americans living in Canada and People with dual Canada/U.S. citizenship. Whats wrong with letting them have a demo. Won't hurt anything and if they are U.S. citizens, it almost seems like a right.

For sure you are right in this. However, seems like a lot of people on the other end were just ecstatic when GWB got in. Whats the dif? Let 'em party, there is no harm.
