Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says that while Canadians need another election like a "hole in the head," his party is prepared to defeat next week's federal budget, potentially sending voters back to the polls.

Ignatieff says"I love the United States". Well where's his love for Canada?

Iggy knows that almost all Canadian voters hated the idea of the coalition and he knows that the Liberal party can't fund another so he's going to sit on his hands, just like Dion did.
The only people that will benefit from the coalition are the NDP and the Bloc.

All Harper has to do is his job and meet Iggys conditions in the budget. Iggy set forth conditions for Harper to meet in order for the Libs to support the budget.

Thats exactly how a minority govt should work. The opposition parties put forth reasonable conditions that the govt must meet to receive their support.

You just keep thinking that every govt means that all the parties are obligated to do whatever the conservatives want.

    Iggy set forth NO CONDITIONS.
The LPC was too consumed with it's own scheming and backstabbing to hold any meetings or do anything constructive.

Flaherty said he has met with the finance critics of all three opposition parties, and the government has listened to their proposals. He said the Liberals did not put forward any concrete recommendations. However, he said the "broad categories" of concern raised by the opposition appeared to align with the concerns of the general public.

While you pay lip service to the opposition working with the government, the opposition is actively working to steal power by means other than a fair election. You're own party leaders signed the doccuments while they denied the coalition existed.

You're party simply isn't trusted by Canadian voters.

    Yes he did.

You are such a hypocrite. You were all for Harper doing everything possible to obstruct, stall, sabotage, and oppose the Libs at every turn possible.

Your party played every dirty trick in the book (indeed they even wrote a book entailing this) to make parliament dysfunctional and laughed at the voters while they did it.

If you think that Harper is trusted by a majority of the voters then you are wrong.

I think he is cooperating. The liberals are getting their deficit budget just like they wanted.

No, the Liberals wanted measures to avoid a massive deficit. The CPC does not. Massive deficits never bothered the conservatives before so why should they now?
