From the Prairies to the Maritimes, Canadians faced another day of bitter cold, with a wind chill blast making it feel like –30 to –50 in some regions.
lol, when I left home this morn' at 0700 - it was -32. Didn't get much warmer during the rest of the allowable daylight hours - nearly 200 collisions in and around the Nations Capital, on the ROC side of the river - observed perhaps a half-dozen remnants - crappy day to be involved in one of those - standing around, waiting for the police and tow trucks, sans gloves, proper footware, no scarves or headgear - I swear, it's enough to cause one to wonder. . . .

Anyone who's standing around "sans gloves, proper footware, no scarves or headgear" in -32 weather deserves to freeze. I have no pity for people who don't think ahead and dress properly for the conditions. I always have extra winter gear in my car.
Having said that, everyone else east of Alberta has my condolences vis-a-vis this weather. We've had -20 to -35 (not including windchill) weather since early December and I'm not sad to see it go.

We are most happy to relieve you of your burden. . . .

When I'm in the cold weather I bring my full-on bug bag so I'm good to go for a week if needs be. Never hurts to be prepared.

Canada Goose parka, their is nothing better.
Well...maybe sealskin but the CG parka is nice and worth the $1200.00.
It even has a strap sewn on the back where you can hook a chopper longline and be slung to safety.
Personally I find that maritimers are a little soft when it comes to the cold, hell just the other week a school shut down because they thought a bad storm was rolling in. It turned out to be 3cm of snow with -13 deg and a little bit of wind. Hell I remember riding my bike home in -30 weather after I closed the store at 1 am.
western Canada was in a deep freeze for a month but it was never "Canadians" face deep freeze.
Stop complaining about semantics.
then again it's a CBC report we know they're Libs . Libs hate everything west of Kenora
so western Canadians aren't Canadians.

I feel for the people east of me though.
That's a wicked cold front.
