People with a high caffeine intake, from coffee, tea, energy drinks, or chocolate, are more likely to experience hallucinations and hear voices, a new study says.

Researchers found that so-called high caffeine users -- those who consume more than the equivalent of seven cups of instant coffee per day -- were three times more likely to hear voices compared to people who drink the equivalent of less than one cup of instant coffee a day.

That's just your kidneys, bladder and lower intestine saying, 'enough already asshole!'

You've been in a United Church lately? Most of their congregations look like they are sitting in Death's waiting room, and their number's next.

Did anyone stop to realize that maybe the same people who drink 7 cups a day are the same people not getting enough sleep to prevent such things. :P

After all if I drink 14 cups (I HAVE done this multiple times!) after getting 8 hours sleep I'm perfectly normal all day. Then again I've kind of developed an immunity to caffine.

That would make sense. Myself, I just have 1 when I wake up for a jumpstart. I often(approx 1x/month) run out of coffee and go without for a couple days. For those days I kinda sit around half asleep the whole time. It's kinda creepy, but I just get more coffee and forget about it. :D

The researchers cautioned that the link between high caffeine intake and hallucinations could be explained by the fact that those who experience hallucinations consume caffeine to cope with the experience.

    Well duh...

There's phrases in the media, once you hear them you know you're about to be bullshitted. Number 1 with a bullet on that hit list would be "A recent study shows".

Coffee's yummy, and doesn't make me see anything other than the morning a little clearer.
