A column of Israeli military vehicles and soldiers has entered the Gaza Strip, after artillery units and warplanes hammered the border area and attacked more Hamas targets.

One too many rocket attacks coming from Hamas.

Now they are going to learn a very hard lesson. But will they actually learn? I won't hold my breath.

Too bad it's the kids and civilians that will be killed and not the militants who will be well hidden.

I guess judging from the outpouring of hate from the Muslim protestors here in Canada, lobbing rockets into civilian populated areas qualifies as surgical strikes on military installations.

Alot of the people in Gaza are Hamas supporters and in doing so are as culpable as the terrorists they are protecting when it comes to accepting responsibility.

If they didn't continue to cheer every rocket hit on Isreal and every dead Israeli civilian, maybe, just maybe, you could believe them when they say all they want is peace.

Until then, as sad as it is about collateral civilian casualties, how can you eradicate these terrorists when they use their own population as willing human shields?

US Blocks U.N. Security Council statement calling for an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers

In Gaza, the real enemy is Iran
If Israel successfully overthrows Hamas in Gaza, it would strengthen anti-Iranian forces throughout the Mideast and signal the region that Iranian momentum can be reversed. The Israeli military operation could begin the process that topples a terrorist regime that seized power in the Gaza Strip in 2007 and has fired thousands of rockets and mortar shells into Israeli neighborhoods.

And whether or not Hamas is ultimately overthrown, Israel can achieve substantial goals.

The bunker busters they are using here to crush tunnels will be closely tracked to see how effective they are vs Iranian targets. 15 days to go...
