The future,Canada has enough Coal bed methane to heat the country for hundreds if not thousands of years.
I know quite a few of those guys and spent lots of time in the flathead valley as it's my backyard.
So, will the project screw up their trapping or the wildlife?
I dont think so and not many trap, they cater to American tourists who pay $1200.00/day for a float trip down the river.we do minimal disturbance wells mostly in Alberta which is just mowing the crop,no road or lease building but coal bed wells can be drilled in a day or less. When they do a field in Alberta they drill one every quarter section and then tie them all in to one big line. All thats left is a small wellhead and a metal cage around it for protection from the wildlife.I dont know if their going to try carbon sequestring on those wells or not. Most people think thats bad for ground water but the jury's still out on that.
The flathead valley was also clearcut years ago once for the timber and again for the beetlekill. There's also a big open pit coalmine upstream from these guys. That valleys still pretty wild on the BC side, lots of griz and elk, they get massive snowfalls in the winter, thats why no one lives there. But the logging would have disturbed the wildlife more then these wells ever will.
Plus theres snowmobiles ripping all through there right now.
As if we care what Americans think about what we do in our country.
you did when the Liberals were in charge
This is all hot air, Shell has pulled out for at least 2 years on this project. Incidentally, they have closed and dissasembled every shell station between Prince Rupert and PG (to the best of my knowledg has the last and only shell. Coincidence?, I think not
What are you talking about? Shell has wells all over the flathead.Their pipeline runs right over the top of the continental divide from Alberta through BC.
They just did such a good job that no one knows there's a pipeline in the ground, even you.

Excellent thought. I guess as long as Canadians are telling other countries how to act and how to run their countries we deserve the same treatment.
