An Air Canada plane dropped and rocked violently for half an hour as Halifax-bound passengers screamed, cried, vomited and held on for dear life on Sunday night, but that was just the start of their ordeal.

It can be really nasty off of Japan's east coast. We had a similar experience flying into Kaohsiung once from Hong Kong. We hit a thunderstorm just before landing and I woke up to a roller coaster ride. We circled and then returned to Hong Kong and flew back a few hours later. The pilots were a little pissed, as they apologized to the passengers, and told them that conditions were more severe than they had been informed of.

In my opinion WestJet has some of the best customer service in the country. We had some mechanical problems on one flight into Vancouver, and had a little lay over in Edmonton. We were given coupons for food and free one way tickets(my wife, my eldest son and myself) from Vancouver to Winnipeg, for the inconvenience.
