TORONTO -- The outraged hockey dad couldn't believe he was watching his 15-year-old son being punched in the face by a linesman. He still can't.

Might wanna read the story again, unless ya wanna go to jail for pickin on the wrong guy

    umm?

"Out of nowhere this linesman came flying over and he pushed my son violently against the boards -- his head hit the glass," he said. "I just recall seeing his helmet bounce off the glass and he instinctively just pushed back and the linesman came back with a punch to the head.

"So my son instinctively did the same thing, and next thing you know, fists were flying," he continued. "Then he grabbed my son and flipped him over on to the ice and continued pounding away.

"He was on top of my son on the ice."

I'd doubt that game and the fight wasn't taped by someone. Silly people getting all worked up over a game.

Holy one sided arguements and allegations BatMan!!!

Ya your Midget Aged Son did nothing to provoke the "foaming mad" official.

Only time i've ever seen a ref lose it on a player. A guy was tossed from a play off game in a Men's league in Langley. The guy was spouting venom at the ref all the way off the ice until he said watch out for you family buddy and said the Ref's address. The ref went after he and pounded the SHIT out of him.

Whats to say this "Little angelic" hockey player didn't make a threat against the ref, say something racial charged that should have been a gross misconduct etc etc etc. Dad's only concern in all this is he wants the kids suspension lifted so he can play.

Where's the refs side to the story.. thats what I want to know. What did the kid say or do through out the game that lead to this. Refs just don't "GO OFF" on players. Something caused this.. the kid and the parent are/ must be lying about something... All the facts aren't there and you guys are bitting the ref's head off..

( Ohh if they were workin a 2 man system the Linesman in also the Ref.)

Ok when did gross misconduct turn into a linesmen fighting a player???. Officals have more then enough power Off ice to make this "Little angelic" player not play again.Good thing teachers dont use this logic againt students eh???

he would have been able to tell his side in the paper just as the dad did yet he didnt, so what does that say?. Not to mention that this is all negated by the fact that he is a ref. An offical is not premitted period to attack a playert and vice versa. no if ands or buts.

The Greater Toronto Hockey League agrees the boy struck first.

The linesman wants his job back and maintains he wasn't trained to properly deal with being attacked by a player.

Funny i sure did in ref camp

    "source" said

"All I did was one-hand him, and I pushed him up against the boards, not violently, and I held him there. I was looking at the other player getting off the ice when (the boy) swore he would kill me," he said. " I turned my head around, and bang, I got hit."

So he did then start the incident no?

    "source" said

The linesman likened the incident to that of NHLer Todd Bertuzzi, who infamously broke Colorado Avalance centre Steve Moore's neck from behind in 2004.

Oh give me a break, just showing desperation now.
