Starting to look like the coalition will have some credibility when it comes to handling the recession.

Too bad it has no credibility with the voters.

yeah the 'three stooges' look at the damage they did in the past, now they can really fuck the nation over.

PS hurley, the CPC WON the election, not the three losers.

Martin did damage? Martin gave us surplus after surplus, only to have Harper drive us to the point of deficit, BEFORE this whole economic crisis really got started.

PS hurley, the CPC WON the election, not the three losers.

Yea, and the CPC has lost the confidence of the house.

That would make us assume you have credibility, and that's just too far to go.
I don't recall seeing a buffet of lefties and separatists on the election ballot.

Don't matter who won the election if they turn around and lose confidence of the house. Harper's a dumbass.

What damage are you talking about exactly?

I'm a voter. That gives me as much credibility as you.

I don't recall Harper campaigning on a platform of risking his own government a month and a half after the election. Fact remains, he screwed up and lost the confidence of the house, as much or more by what he's not doing for the economy as what he tried to do to the opposition parties themselves.

He didn't lose the confidence of the voters, he threatened the funding of the opposition.
All polling shows that most Canadians were more than happy to take that political welfare away from all parties. You wrongly believe that the opposition speaks for voters and the election proves that isn't the case.

Confidence of the voters isn't the standard for staying in power, and you're being deliberately obtuse.

The opposition speaks for more voters than does the Government.

Fife reported earlier Monday that the cabinet formed under the coalition would include both Liberal and NDP ministers. The Liberals would take 18 cabinet seats, while the NDP would get six.

Fife also reported that the coalition government would introduce a $30-billion economic stimulus package and roll back $50 billion in planned corporate tax cuts.

This is looking better and better all the time. Its a Lib-NDP minority coalition govt proped up by the Bloc. Thats no different then any minority govt being proped up by support of another party. Its exactly how minority govts work and identical to the one Harper proposed back when (The hypocrites forget they would have supported them doing it to the Liberals).

The Libs and NDP hold all the cabinet positions and the Bloc will obviously get concessions for QC, likely the same concessions Harper would have been forced to give them anyway.

Throughout all this the usual cons simply cannot grasp the fact that it was Harper who engineerd his own downfall should it happen. He's running scared now knowing that should his govt lose power to a coalition, no matter how brief, the calls for his replacement will be loud.

You guys can talk all you want about it being a back room power ploy but its exactly the move you would have praised Harper for pulling off had he done it.

Harper has had numerous opportunities to avoid this. He all but made it impossible for him to simply reach out and make a deal with either the Libs or NDP and all but impossible for them to accept any such deal.

Ideally for the country would be for Harper to back off his political partisan bill ploy (done), table a real economic stimulus plan (working) and to openly accept responsibility and openly make a deal for support from the Liberals.

He isn't. You wanted Dion to accept responsibility for the Liberal failure and he did. Now its time for Harper to accept responsibility for his failure and you cons to accept that everything that has transpired is entirely his fault.

..but the opposition isn't one party.
The people who voted NDP didn't vote Liberal because the parties are not the same.
