This is Jennifer Moss' cautionary tale - one that involves a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, an exorbitant lease and masquerading creditors who used Facebook to hunt her down and humiliate her in front of family and friends.

For somebody who is "poor", makes me wonder where her nifty handheld device showing the picture of the car that she can't make payments on comes from?

I don't feel sorry for people like this. Trying to blame everybody else when in reality she wasn't making the payments she was supposed to. Since she couldn't make payments, why did it take so long to give the car back?

These people sound pretty stupid and got themselves into some trouble. However these types of companies prey on stupid people and that's not right either. Sometimes you find yourself in financial trouble and you just don't know what to do.

The leasing company, however, appears to have broken harassment laws

I have to agree with you on this, that is definitely going too far.

People are putting too much info about themselves, children ie pics on facebook and there are alot of people looking at the info.. it is not secure by any means.. as is nothing on the net IP addresses are easy to track.. but this kind of stuff by creditors is unacceptable. there are laws that protect people.. and it is usually the poor and disadvantaged that are pawns in the usurous rates set by unscrupulous auto finance companies.

When you're poor with no credit and just starting out, you buy a decent used car for about 2-3 grand

    exactly.

Honestly, you gotta take some remedial English classes, cause that's just terrible to read.

I think that what happens in the some cases, is that people grab what ever someone will give them.. The payment is the only thing they consider and get themselves into problems. Some would think that being poor, you shouldn't have a car.. or much else. My wife works in a bank and they would never lend someone $3000 unsecured. And a $3000 car would not be good security even if they did. So I can see someone going for the gold when offered..

I don't attempt to speak french because I know I can't. Your problem is punctuation really.

$500 carpayments when you are poor is a hell of a lot of money...

I do think though, that public transit in this country should be a hell of a lot better...

There is a reason for basic rules of English. It's so people can read it without getting a headache.

What these people can't walk, run, car pool, public transit, bike etc to work. I don't have a vehicle, my legs/friends seem to get me where ever i need to go.

good observation Smith...ditch the technology if you really NEED a vehicle you have to sacrifice something.
