If people just quit listening to the media hype and keep buying, continue to travel then Canada won't feel any pain.

It when people respond to FoxNews, CNN and whatever other B.S. News Media outlet's scare tatics.

I agree that the problems are multiplied by the media's coverage of things. A lot of people would have continued on with their spending if the media had not made them panic. Yes, things would still have gotten bad, but maybe not to such of an extent that it has.

I used to have respect for the media in the 70's and 80's but they have lost all credibility. I now rank them equal with the National Enquirer.

    agreed.

the media is responsible for a lot of unnecessary pessimism.

Look at the xmas ads on tv right now!

    Buy Buy Buy!!!
    No payments for a year!
    No credit,no problem,everyone approved!

I dont think Canadians will buy it(no pun intended)so this years inventory will have to get half priced after xmas.
I'm amazed at how desperate they are becoming to get xmas sales though.

I'm waiting until AFTER Christmas to buy a flatscreen TV and maybe a new PC. I have a feeling January is going to be pretty bleak and the deals will be great.
