As a coach myself, at first I was not thrilled about having to wear a bucket for practices, but got used to it. Now i am told they expect the coach to have the ear flaps in his helmet also (in this area) what a joke, the thing that gets me is here you have a bunch os figure skaters twirling and skating around on the ice at the same time, in their own world oblivious to everything going on around them, nothing on but a pair of skates and maybe mittens, yet they are hammering on hockey coaches to start gearing up.
I did see a goalie coach take one in the melon a couple of years ago at an AAA midget practice. Oddly enough he was more able to communicate with the goalies after right after that.
