A government sponsered car race? Seriously WTF! I know that F1 races probably get some sort of hand out as does almost everything that is considered 'cultural' in Quebec. To stand up and say you want to spoon out more money to make it possible for a race, thats just stupid. They dont even know why it was taken off! Ugh I'll leave this to all of the hacks now, have fun!

Only if he could unionise the drivers and teams.

Emperor Jack would probably make it a condition.

Gee. How does F1 racing fit into the NDP's green plans? Everybody must pay more for gas and pollution and the money they collect will subsidize private events like auto racing? This is a huge boondoggle and Jack should be ashamed.

I think it was cancelled because it was too expensive for them to come all the way over here for one race.

    Agreed.

You'd think Jack would get behind Indy racing. It's done with 100% Ethanol, and it makes money.

Just in case.. The same holds true for the Harper conservatives.
The Feds shouldn't support this sort of thing.

Layton is full of shit he's now promising things he can't deliver in his wildest dreams.

    Who votes for these tools?

Why doesn’t he just say he'd bring in chows whole family from mainland china and Canada’s population would go up by 750K. that I could and do believe.

Is there anything Jack Layton can't do?

Hey, maybe he could bring the Jets and the Nordiques back too.

    Become PM.

Hey, maybe he could bring the Jets and the Nordiques back too.

Yes, he'd simply nationalize the oil industry and
buy teams with the dividends 'rich people' used to get.

Think of the possibilities...he could pull a Chavez, pretend
Tim Horton's wasn't paying their taxes, and shut them all down
until they spring for enough money to pay all the NHL players
    for the two restored franchises.

Looking forward to tonight's Air Farce..hoping Don Ferguson
does one of his Jack Layton bits...Jack is starting to look quite a bit
like Don Ferguson, did you notice ?
