Accused killer Vince Li bears sole responsibility for the grisly death of Greyhound bus passenger Tim McLean, the bus line says in court documents filed last week.
Had the bus driver or at least someone on the bus had been licensed to carry a handgun the kid may still have been stabbed, but he'd probably still be alive and we'd have a dead perp.

So an armed citizen upsets you but an armed guard on the bus would've been okay, right? Because only someone who was properly armed would be able to take on someone who was also armed.
Thats not whats wrong here, a man driving a bus should not have the responsiblity of supreme justice. I am in the military and I am a bad shot with a handgun, what do you think your adverage bus driver would be? Are we going to have bus driver hand gun training schools? Hell the RCMP didnt even shoot the suspect when they stopped the bus. Now saying we should arm someone to shoot another person on a crowed bus? Give your head a shake man.

Then get used to this kind of thing happening.
Had it happened in Texas or one of any other similar states that allow properly vetted people to carry concealed this would have had a different outcome.
Oh, and just for the point...
Now saying we should arm someone to shoot another person on a crowed bus?
If a cop happened to have been on that bus and had shot the perp would you say the same thing, I wonder?

A cop is trained to use a firearm and deal with situations like this. Your average citizen is not even if they are a competent shot with a firearm. We have already been over this. The likliehood of anybody stopping this was non-existent. Suppose an armed citizen killed an innocent bystander. What would you say then?
You are holding that somebody armed with a gun would have solved the situation. What if this guy had had a gun?

The fact that you suck with a handgun means nothing. I am in IT but i sure as hell can shoot the shit out of some stuff when I want. And the fact the RCMP didnt shoot him instantly is a whole other issue.

Id say thanks for saving my life, the "The likliehood of anybody stopping this was non-existent" is so stupid. If someone on that bus had a gun and knew how to use it, bang bang, problem solved

Then you know nothing about the case. The victim was pounced on in a surprise attack and stabbed repeatedly in the neck before anybody could even look up let alone pull a gun out, assess the situation and shoot the correct person.
Everybody always assumes that joe average gun owner would very cooling and calmly shoot somebody when the truth is far different. One needs only to watch cops to see seasoned police officers empty whole clips at suspects just a few feet away and miss their target.
I understand that because Ripley was able to become an expert using an M-41A pulse rifle with just 10 minutes of instructions means everybody who picks up a gun knows just how to use it.
The military doesn't even bother training soldiers anymore. They just let them watch Platoon and Saving Private Ryan and voila.
BTW, if somebody tried to intervene and shot and killed an innocent bystander that person deserves to be charged with manslaughter.
