In the midst of a global market crisis, a survey by the World Economic Forum has proclaimed Canada to have the world's soundest banking system.

    Look, I know didly about economics, but if Canada is doing so great, why is our loony plummeting in comparison to teh US dollar? Shouldn't it be going up?

    No becaus ethe people who buy our products have run out of money also, our dollar is linked heavily with oil and gas, which has seen a sharp decline over the past two weeks. So while we are stable and there have been no massive lay-offs and bankruptcies in Canada, we are still at the mercy to the rest of the world and their wicked wicked ways!!

    That is why most Canadians figure shutting down the Alberta economy will have no effect on Canada.

    so oil is at 81 and the high was july 149. do you think bank stocks will stay high or fall soon. I just cant see bank stocks going up with oil falling. but who knows for sure.
