The Conservatives are cancelling plans to restrict which film and TV projects are eligible to receive tax credits -- a move that had enraged the arts community, especially in Quebec where the party is desperate to gain ground.

WOW Harper must be scared! Scared that it's possibly he might not win majority, but also that he might not win this election.

    Nanos: CP 34, LP 31, NDP 18

He keeps changing his stance on issues, to try and please everyone. But at what point is he going to piss off his base so much they won't vote for him... problem is who will they vote for, no one maybe.

Hurley, you remember when Chretien promised the Canadian NHL team a few million to help them out? Then it turned out the public didn't like the idea so he changed his mind. Did you call Chretien a flip flopper? Didn't think so. Sometimes politicians change their minds when there is enough opposition. Weird huh?

Sure - he's trying for votes here - let's get that out of the way.

But what is wrong with any party leader bending to the will of the pople? The arts community has made it loud and clear that the funding cuts were not on, and obviously that has found a bit of traction in the public. So what's worse, Harper backtracking and listening to the public, or ignoring the masses and carrying on?

If it's imply partisan cynisism, then I understand, but if not, don't you think some credit should be handed out for answering to the public?

It's another huge flip-flop on Harper's part. He knows that this campaign was a disaster. He was supposed to come out of it with a majority and now he's in a fight to win an minority, He's writing policy on the fly, basing it on polls and scribbling it on the back of napkins.

Like I said... We NDP don't need to be elected... Our policies become reality in time anyway, :)

    Long Live the Public!

You are not the NDP and it's not an NDP policy that Harper is following. Plain and simple he wants votes.

What happened to his ideals, Ruez? Where are the Conservatives who loved his attacks on the arts?
