WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has asked Japan and NATO allies who have refused to send troops to Afghanistan to pay the estimated $17 billion needed to build up the Afghan army

    Yeah and a senior British field commander just stated that the war there cannot be won without negotiation. The opposing forces say that there will be no talk until all non nationals get out. So some idiot from the U.S. state dept. thinks we should throw more money down the sinkhole. Sounds like something harper would promote, why not squander a few more billion of Canadian taxpayers money (which will happen in any event if he has anymore say in the matter) - God knows we don't need it here.
