NDP Leader Jack Layton says Canadians should show "Stephen Harper the door" rather than give him a majority government because he didn't help working families as prime minister.

I find it ironic that this socialist is commenting on this when his own platform would just about ensure it would happen.

He is also grosly unaware of the regulatory standards Canada has which underwrite Banks and mortgage brokers.

Shows how much he really doesn't know and understand.

At a boy Jack, stand up and show everyone how little confidence you have in our markets because we all know how much that will help the problem. This is the exact opposite of what any leader should be doing in times like this but I guess it doesn't bother Jack so long as he can score some cheap political points.

Well duh!! The entire fucking planet is experiencing shockwaves from this crisis, so it doesn't take a genius (something Jackie is not)to figure this out.

    Sure, Jack, sure.
Who you going to trust; the trained economist or the desperate car salesman.

Jack may not be a genius, but he's not living in a bubble where repeating, "Our fundamentals are strong," over and over again like some kind of magic spell will make everything better.

I don't know if any of you remember that episode of the X-Files where the army guy is dressed up like an alien and gets abducted by real aliens. He ends up sitting there and saying, "This can't be happening," over and over again.

Harper reminds me more and more of that guy as the crisis goes on.

hmmm, it's the same 2 or 3 people on this site taking shots at Harper and the Con's ALL THE TIME. Can't you guys brainwash anyone else into your thinking?

What's Harper done for us, Meaden? The markets are in free-fall and his plan is basically to sing, "Don't worry, be happy." Oil prices are down, potash is down...all of the raw materials are down, and Harper is saying that everything is just dandy. Ontario has been crashing for months, and Harper's answer is that...well he doesn't really have an answer.

Every other leader has some kind of plan. Harper's plan is to do nothing and deny there's a problem.

That's a rather interesting take - Ontario crashing, and it must be Harper's fault - couldn't be Premier McLiar could it? You know, the wanker who promised "I will not increase your taxes one red cent."

    Yup. . . .

Damn socialists - got an answer for everything - complain that prices are down but point fingers at everyone other than those so deserving.

    yawn. . . .
