this morning the site is unavailable...The telemarketers hacked it.

Another option is to check call display and simply not answer the phone if you don't want to.

That works if you have Call Display and is still a nuisance because you have to check everytime the Phone starts nagging. I hate Phones, especially when people call that I'm not interested in talking too(like telemarketers). I have learned the fine art of simply hanging up when keywords are spoken.

my bank called me the other day and tried to sell me life insurance. i told them i was busy and asked if they could call me back another time. and the guy was like no this is only gonna take a few minutes.. so he says his thing and i tell him i'm not interested and he asks why not and I tell him its because it pissed me off that he wouldn't call me back...

and while its annoying for people to call... its fun to screw with them too

You should said "I'm sorry, I am very sick and have only a few months to live, but I suppose I can make some time for you. What is the maximum insurance you have anyways?"

My grandfather used to let the person start talking and simply lay the phone gently on the table and leave. He would return in about ten minutes to hang it up.

We have had the DNC list for 3 years now. It is amazing how few calls we get now! Just be careful. After they enacted it down here, telemarketers got smart. They started having sweepstakes where you filled in your information and put it in a box in a local merchant's shop for a drawing. In the fine print it says that by entering (and your phone number is required) you wave your rights under the do not call list and they my contact you.

I'm glad they made the list permenant this time. If I don't want them to call now, I'm quite sure I'm not gonna change my mind in 3 years.
