PEMBROKE, Ont. — Police in eastern Ontario believe they’ve busted the largest marijuana grow operation in Canadian history.

    If people grew their own, for their own use, this wouldn't happen, the police couldn't arrest everyone and this wouldn't be a moneymaker for organized crime.

    The analogy I use is homemade beer or wine. Both are legal and because it's so easy and common to make, there's little chance you can make money from it. That would take the orgamized crime out of it here but people would still smuggle it down south and that would screw up the border a great deal. To nake people think twice about that, I'd ramp up the siezure laws and make smuggling drugs a major crime with major US time.
