Pretty much. The NDP have been saying its on the table because they know they have never had a credible shot at power so they can promise the moon. It nothing but crass politics at its worst, Jack has about as much compunction to honor this deal as he would honor his deal with Marc Emery.

So you don't think Layton would scrap the NAFTA deal, Scape?

No, as has no shot at the PM seat. If by some fluke he did I still doubt he would do it as the reality on the books when your in power is not the same as in opposition. You pull the plug on NAFTA then the whole deal is nixed, not just a line by line veto, as that is the only way for it to be done under the current agreement.

If Taliban Jack thinks he's going to get a fair shake from the Democrats, who are well known for being protectionist, he's in for a rude awakening.

He as about as much credit on renegotiating NAFTA as the Greens do on their 25 grand each for the poor promise. It's easy to make unrealistic promises when you know full well you will never have to deliver on them.

Wow, if you are calling the NDP stating bullshit to get elected. You can say that about any other party. However the bigger kicker is, the other parties have been a history of stating bullshit to get elected.

Nobody has ever given NDP a shot, and I think its about time somebody did. If you look at what the other parties are promising, they are shit compared to what the NDP sais they are offering and you can believe that, because you already gave the other parties a chance. Through-out and more, they keep fucking up.

NDP needs a shot at this.

You know if it wasn't for the utter mess that the Liberal party has created for themselves I doubt the NDP's would be doing so well. Had it not been for that I have no doubt they would have lost seats to the Greens and Jack would probably have been asked to step aside after the election.

So vote for him and give him a chance to prove you wrong.

If you students of history here have a look at what happened in Saskatchewan when the CCF/NDP first got into power, you'll find the Liberals and Conservatives of the day were pushing the same lines then. They were proved wrong.

So let's give Jack a chance. I don't think he's Tommy Douglas, but I do think he'll give it his best shot, and I think that'll be a vast improvement.

The NDP have had chances to show their 'stuff' provincially,
in several provinces. None successfully....the only places
they haven't been an abject and utter failure, they still had to
back off many of their socially and economically unworkable
platform planks and dreamy-eyed promises. Then they were just
    Liberals painted orange. BFD .
