I sorry to say this, but can't they fix this lady so she can not have anymore children.

I mean if she it just going to continue to push out kids that the government is going to end up paying for, they why not just get a court order to stop the revolving baby mill?

Wonder if this would be a more effective long-term
method of crime reduction in cities like Toronto,
likely more effective than a gun ban ?

I still think you should have to apply for a pregnancy license but,
I am a guy, my opinion shouldnt have any weight on the subject.

Women get pregnant all on their own?

    They can.

Thats all you need really, a woman only needs a couple ounces of sperm, a man's only needed contribution is that sample.

No but its not hard to get that sample, and a further need for a man is no longer required.

But I wonder is it possible to remove a chromosome from an egg to fertilize another?

Attitudes like that are part of the problem.

Oh no no no, you misunderstand, I state this is a biological fact. Not an ideology, I feel that if a woman becomes pregnant that it is the duty of the man in the relationship to support the woman as much as possible. He has as much of a responsibility as she does.

I apologise, that was not my intent. I can easily see now how it can be perceived that way.

They can't "fix" as was suggested anyone against their will. This has been tested in the courts before with people who are developmentaly delayed as well as by people with physical issues and debilitating illness. The surpeme court of Canada ruled on this several years ago. Its against the Human Rights Code.

I don't really get why she isn't on birthcontrol. She can have an IUD placed and not worry for another 5 years. No pills to forget either. She hates having taken her kids away, why doesn't any social worker suggest that?

I think there's a heck of a lot more to this story than is in that article.
Given it's dripping with sappy rhetoric, I'd tend to agree.

That being said, it mentions that "each of these apprehensions is justifiable individually" and that the couple is "often unable to cope with the demands made on them because of their low intellectual capacity and concomitant lack of judgment"

She can't have them, according to the authorities... Someone has to tell her clearly what is going to happen everytime she gets pregnant.

You'd think she'd know by now, eh?

Where's her family? Friends? Why isn't anyone else talking to her?

    Exactly my point...

yeah, if the goverment says you are too stupid to properly raise a child after you give birth to one child, and you go on to have five more, i think you are really proving their point more than anything.
