Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe pulled the Quebec constitutional debate into the federal election campaign mix on Friday, calling on Conservative Leader Stephen Harper to enshrine Quebec's status as a nation in the Canadian Constitution.

    So Quebec won't ratify the constitution but they want to be recognized as a nation in it. Keep dreaming.

    R=UP

    It's time like this I wish I could backhand Quebec and tell them to wake up and smell reality.

    And Christ, is their own concept of their nation so insecure and fragile that they need the rest of the country they want to seperate from enshrine it in our Constitution? Get some confidence for God's sake! :roll:

    My solution is to build a 100' wall on the provincial borders, and then fill it with water. :P

    Seriously tho, Quebec needs to separate or STFU already.

    Hmmm...a Conservative PM carrying us towards a national unity crisis. I think I've seen this movie before.

    Gee...... and the sequel involved a Liberal(and if we watch the credits to the prequel, we find lots of Liberal starring roles there too)PM. Hack a bit more and you may get a hairball. The Froggies don't care who the lifeguard is when they piss in the pool.

    Coming soon to a theatre near you, "Dude what was my point?", starring Reverend Blair

    Ah, that old Conservative intolerance rears its ugly head again. Are you going to trample the Quebec flag again?

    No is that something you engage in?

    Since when is elections the time for one party to make requests from another party? Aren't they supposed to be competing for seats at this time?

    They are competing for seats, Kettal. Duceppe just successfully showed that Harper doesn't respect the very voters he's courting while responding to an attack from within his own ranks. At the same time, he's outlined an agenda for the Bloc that will play well for them in the next session of parliament no matter who wins the election or how many seats the Bloc wins.

    ShepherdsDog: It's something that Reform/Alliance/Conservatives in small town Ontario engaged in not that long ago. It was a brutal and ugly spectacle that showed up on the news.

    Dragging the Canadian flag through the street and wiping their asses with it seems to be a common tradition on St. Jean Baptiste day in many of the cities and villages of Quebec. It stopped making the news because it became so commonplace.

    Explain, with the use of references, how this is Harpers fault? Because all I see is the same old separatists playing the same old games but with new players. Are you really ignorant enough to beleive that these assholes will ever stop wanting more until they have destroyed everything. Harper did more for Quebec than Jean Chretien, Paul Martin and Pierre Trudeau, he had the courage to recognize them and he would probably change the constituion if Quebec would ratify it, but they wont so why change it!!
