"Both the LHC and the Space program are vital if the human race is not to stultify and eventually die out. Together they cost less than one tenth of a per cent of world GDP. If the human race can not afford this, then it doesn't deserve the epithet 'human'."

I saw that picture on Joystiq- very clever stuff.

Hawking's statement makes me feel better about it. When it turns on tomorrow, it should be interesting to see.

This is going to be huge. The last big epoch was the discovery of electronics. This will dwarf it.

Haven't you noticed anything unusual about him?

I can't seem to find it, but I saw this great comparison where it was a photo of MB next to Barney, and they looked like brothers seperated at birth... 8O

And I hear it's going to take a lot of hard drives before they can massage the data.

Oh for sure. I was reading they'll be filling up of data on an almost daily basis.

Don't worry about all that. When they punch a hole in the space time continuum, the Old Ones will be freed from their prison and mankind will be too busy just trying not to be their next meal. All praise Cthulhu and Hastur, their time of liberation draws nigh.
