Stephen Harper labelled Stéphane Dion's policies during Monday's election campaign trail as "untested schemes," while the Liberal leader challenged the prime minister to an "honest debate" on his carbon tax plan.

It's about time someone had the balls to call Harper a liar!

Yeah, Harper is certainly not given to telling the truth.

It's kind of funny that he released his Uncle Fuzzy ads one day, then his attack ads...which are factually challenged at best...the next. Either the Uncle Fuzzy persona is a lie in itself, or Harper has a split personality and isn't stable enough to be left in charge.

Harper is the best choice out of all the leaders. He puts Canadians ahead of anything else.

No, he puts his corporate pals and his religious masters ahead of everything else. Then come his Republican pals from the US. Then comes everything else.

I seem to recall that Mr. Family Values, instead of giving his son a hug like all the other parents, shook his young son's hand on the first day of school. What a responsible parent he is - keeping all those un-necessary human emotions out of his children's lives.

He's a cool Dad. He brought his kids to school and was thoughtful enough in making sure he didn't embarrass them in front of their friends and many news cameras.

    Call social services!

Maybe he should go into the forest, smoke dope with his kids for a few days and get in touch with his feelings and commune with the Earth Goddess like the hippie granola parents.

How about Harper's Minister of Family Values, Vic Toews. After years of trying to push his bizarre radical right christian agenda on the rest of us, Toews' wife suddenly filed for divorce. Why? Well, while his wife was back in Steinbach doing the riding work, Toews found himself an aide to hop on. Of course because Toews spurns safe sex and birth control as the devil's work, he ended up producing a kid with that aide. Mrs. Toews was not amused. To be fair though, it is entirely possible that Vic wasn't well-versed enough in the human reproductive system to know how babies get made.

Now Harper could be outraged at the irresponsibility of Toews, but instead it looks like he'll hand Toews a partisan position as a judge or something.

The next time you hear a Conservative talking about family values, remember that little story. These people have no values, family or otherwise.

Harper cares about families. He actually helps families instead of just talking about it. Unlike the Liberals. The Liberals were all talk no action for years. Then Harper was voted in and put action to work. I know many families greatly welcome his programs.

Harper cares about nothing but getting re-elected. If he cared about families...all families...he would have kept the daycare system or, better yet, expanded it.

nanny state daycare is not the answer.

like we need another social welfare package. I think he should double the tax credit for children and CONTINUE to let the FAMILY decide.

Not set up daycare centers on every other street corner. There is one thing government is not good at, it's running a business. Look at health care for christ sake!
