PRINCE GEORGE -- Rather than build a new North Central Plywood plant in Prince George, Canfor decided it would be better to concentrate on upgrading the company's existing operations

While Prince George is big enough to take this hit, don't think it doesn't hurt. Many of those guys won't find work as good so the local economy's looking at 500 -600 jobs to rebuild from it.
Honey, here's your lunchpail... we're both gonna have to be working now!
And trickledown... Canfor will take some of that, what $50 million? insurance money and invest it in another of their mills, so they can modernize and cut workers there too.
    Bright future Houston!

    Bright future Houston?

Yeah, people will have to find new work in another field. Probaly be best to be retrained in the oil industry and work in Alberta.

Houston BC is where Canfor runs a huge "supermill".

Half the guys in town took off to Alberta after the closures here. Almost all came back with horror stories about the cost of housing.
