Are they bringing this IELTS test in as new to the immigration system?

    Oh my, GIMME A BREAK!!!!

You can get 16 points with a close to perfect IELTS-score, and if you haven't studied English at university-level or are a native English speaker, you need it. THIS IS NOT NEW to the skilled worker class, and the entrepeneur classes, and not news either.

Only when you come to Canada through the Family Class, it is not necessary.

ROTFL I didn't have to take it. My hubby did.

Really, you should learn how to read MrC. This is not new. The IELTS has been the way to proof your English language skills for years for Skilled Worker applicants.

And for here for years I thought ILETS was a piss poor vehicle designed for the Canadian Army, that involved major kickbacks and job security to a retired General.

Just goes to show you how much I know. ROTFL
