Canadian police have been brainwashed, Taser inquiry told

The Taser is a good tool when used as a weapon of last resort prior to esclating to deadly force.
The reality for many Police responders is it is a weapon of first use when common sence and communication should have been tried to defuse many incidents.

yup that guy at the Vancouver Airport who was killed by it, the cops were going to deploy it before they even got into the room with the guy! you could clearly hear one of them saying to the other, are we going to Tase..with a yup response.

IMO those officers were simply lazy and the taser was used instead of some good old fashioned police work.

Agreed, BC Cops were lucky the 82 year old guy in the hospital they tasered 3 times didn't die also. Seen their spokeman on TV defending police actions because buddy had a pen knife. Musta been one tuff senior citizen.......

The transit cops didn't even bother to show up even though their one of the largest users of tazers. How's that for accountability.

When the minimum requirement for police these days is a pulse you might have a sack of hammers in the basement with more IQ then two mounties with a taser. Which might be good because I'd rather be tasered by one of those idiots then shot by the same idiot.

they were hoping tasers would be a legal way to continue with police brutality.. they can still kill someone with a taser... tasers are lethal to a cardiac patient..
