The federal government is facing some harsh accusations from the advocates of a Canadian citizen who returned to his native Sudan several years ago but has not been allowed to come home.

They are calling him the next Maher Arar but it is not only Canada's security intelligence services that think he has connections to terrorism. There is also Britain, the Unites States, France, Germany, and Italy. He's listed on Interpol and his names have been added to the UN Security Council's list of international terrorist suspects. Going back in time not even members of the Liberal Party would touch him including former Prime Minister Paul Martin.

Abousfian Abdelrazik (aka Abou El Layth, Aboulail, Abousfian Salman Abdelrazik, Abousofian Abdelrazek, Abousofian Abdelrazik, Abousofiane Abdelrazik, Abu Juiriah, Abu Sufian, Abu Sufian Abd Al Razeq, Abulail, Djolaiba the Sudanese, Jolaiba, Ould El Sayeigh, Sofian Abdelrazik) has admitted ties to Ahmed Ressam (the Millenium Bomber), and is suspected of having ties to Abu Zubaydah who planned 9/11.

But he is a Canadian citizen and I would expect the media snowball to grow larger and then finally members of the NDP and Liberal parties will step into the limelight to express their moral outrage and demand something be done. I'm glad the story is coming out but goddamn it, it is only fair to at least make an effort to tell both sides.
