For those who are criticizing Harper for inaction though you should keep in mind that any push by the official government of Canada on this issue may make matters worse. The Mexican judiciary is fiercely independent and any action that can be perceived as political interference in their system may likely only result in them digging in their heels further

Can someone remind me again why we as Canadians flock to this country every year considering how unbelievably corrupt and dangerous it is?

Boy, I bet she's kicking herself for not signing that agreement that would have had her transferred immediately to a Canadian prison if found guilty.

But she can`t be guilty.. She`s a Liberal!

Seriously.. Big deal. I`m sorry she`s there but her use as a political pawn does not change her legal status. In fact, I`m pretty desgusted that she`s become the poster child for the justice system in the first place.

I posted a crapload of stuff that was pretty damning of her and her case but you never hear that on the news because it dosen`t suit the smear campaign.

Why is she innocent, because she says she is?
didn`t you say that prisons are filled with innocent people?

You'd think after visiting her, Paul Martin would take better care of his mom.

She wasn't just a visitor there. She was living and working illegally and was obviously engaged in other criminal activities. I've been to Mexico several times as have friends and family and except one occasion, involving alcohol, never had a problem with the authorities. It's a great place to holiday and for many Gringos retire.

No need to go to Mexico for that, then.
We got plenty of women in Canada that meet that criteria!

If they're so inept and crooked, can you explain why one of the lead news stories tonight said that the Conservatives had worked a deal with the Mexican government to have her repatirated to Canada as soon as possible?

The story went on to say that once she was returned to Canada she would be awarded time served and likely never spend one second in a Canadian jail.

The unfortunate part is that the drama queen passed out when the verdict was read and now they have to wait till she's in better shape to get her to sign her waiver for return to Canada.

I guess her "vapours" were caused by being twice shocked, first to find out that the Mexican judge didn't believe her and secondly that it was a Conservative Government that was going to get her out and not her beloved Liberals.
