well i'd hate to be a descenting voice of this, but haven't the monks lashed out violently before? maybe this is just an esculation of what they have done in the past?

Part of me is with you TattoodGirl, thinking monks wouldn't do this, but the rational side of me (not calling you irrational)knows people will do ANYTHING to get their point across or in an attempt to change something. Perhaps bombing is an extension of the monk burnings in Vietnam, maybe they realized burning themselves didn't do anything, so now they are taking other people with them.

Buddhist monks are not allowed to use violence, they are spiritual people. They are trained to handle pressure, and wouldn't resort to violence. Which is what makes it bullshit. You really think that they would spend like 30 years or 50 years devoting there lives to Buddhism, and training to be peaceful, and trained to not hurt anything and would blow that all away in a couple of hours?

Wake up man, The Chinese Government won't even let reporters in Tibet. They got this whole thing secretized. Why would you assume that is? Because they don't abuse them and lie about them?

The same Information you got, stating Monks lashed out in violence is from the same source as anybody else gets there Tibet info. The Chinese Government.

It is a really bad attempt by the government of China to play the terrorist card to get the sympathy of the west. They think that all they have to do is cry terroist and the world will feel sory for them.

comment was more or less devils advocacy coming out in me, I haven't been following this at all really.

interestingly my dad phoned me this morning and gave me this site: nobelprize.org then look for the Dalai Lama's acceptance speech, it is supposed to be something else.

Amazing how stupid the Chinese government really is. They actually want us to believe that a group of Buddhist Monks, the same religous order who continually chants "for the sake of all living things" and would rather burn themselves alive as an act of defiance, blew something up.

    Give me a break.

The trouble is that the Chinese Government hasn't figured out yet that when you start to target the Buddhist Monks in an oriental country, alot of the population rally's around them. Just as the former South Vietnamese government.
