I admire him for his stance on firearms, and for the many years he represented the actors guild. His movies and acting were always top notch, too.

    RIP Mr. Heston

    I agree.

But he was 84 and it sounds like he had Alzheimers. He died at home with his wife at his side - what more can you ask for?

My cousin met him when they were filming... Needful Things, I think... and when he introduced himself, he said, "Call me Chuck".

My cousin was thrilled - he told all of us that he'd met Moses. :D

You are thinking of Max Von Sydow (needful things).

    Heston was a great actor.

A loss of an artist diminishes the world.

I don't remember which movie it was... and Heston might not have been in it, he might have produced or directed.

Well, perhaps your cousin meant a different heston?

    Fraser Clarke Heston

Dammit Lily, the only reason I came onto this thread was to say the exact same thing. Can I still call him a damn dirty ape?

It always saddens me when the old acting greats pass away. They truly are the last of an era where acting actually MEANT acting...not relying on special effects to get across the screen. I was so upset when Gregory Peck and Katherine Hepburn passed on - they were two of my all time favourites.

RIP Mr Heston and thanks for all the great movies.

How can you outlive your time on earth? Once your dead your time is up.
