Good one - why you're being a first-rate ignoramus why not wax politically about the communists that run Stephen Harper's campaign too?

Saving energy by turning off your lights is hardly a personally invasive idea. At the very least, some will save a couple of bucks.

Swift move hypoturd - you're chastising me for alleged name calling by calling me a name! Brilliant. It's no wonder you think Harper's campaign adviser is a communist. That qualifies you as an "ignoramus". Shuffle on

Great idea, I diddn't even know they were doing a poll to see how many would register. I bet atleast 10% - 20% that diddn't do that poll diddn't know about it either and will be registering anyways if they found out that is.

What's the website that you register on? Anybody know.
I usually turn off all my power when I don't use things whenever I go to bed, or out of house or not using things. Saving a lot more on the power bill just for the simple task of flipping a switch, and unplugging a few things.

    You don't say !!!

Same in pretty much every household.

My lights are turned off, but for a totally different reason. It is so that my female sexual partner doesn't have to look at me while we are making love. XD

I admit when I first heard of this, I thought it was along the same lines as the "Buy Nothing Day" - that is, an ineffectual publicity stunt.

The more I thought of it, though, the more it makes perfect sense as far as these things go - the most significant reason being that energy consumption is so easily measured.

That people can see their conscious efforts reduce consumption by some degree (and by past results I've heard the effect is significant) sends a very clear message that personal choices can and do have an influence.

Personal opinions on the climate change debate aside, reducing energy consumption can only have a positive impact on everything from pollution to financial costs.
