CHARLOTTETOWN - A familiar scene is being played out on ice floes off Eastern Canada as sealers and seal hunt opponents take up their positions and ready their clubs and cameras for another season of tension on the ice.

So let me get this right, its the 21st Century and there are people getting paid to bash baby seals and stab them so someone rich person can wear their skin.
In the off season they are probably employed by the Chinese to bash Tibetans and by the Americans to bash Mexicans over the head.

No, they're paid to bash adult seals to feed their families. And in the offseason, they go fish and educate their children.

Im not even going to bother arguing with you if you think that this is a humane way of killing baby seals.

When I grow up and get some money I'm deliberately going to go out and buy the nicest lookin' Newfie-made seal-skin coat I can find, even if I have to go all the way to St. John's to find one. I'll consider it as doing my part to throw the animal-rights choads into one of the spastic frenzies that they enjoy so much.

Legitimate environmental concerns are one thing. Putting up with these PETA/Sea Shepard/ELF/ALF assholes is something else altogether. It's long past due for us normal folks to put our foot down when it comes the dangerous political nonsense generated by these evil idiots.

And I'm going to bother arguing with you even if you don't!

A club to the head. Instant death. So much as the few sadistic hunters who voluntarily injure without killing should be punished, those are rare and not all hunters should be seen as monsters for that reason!

And really, is a gun any better? Shoot well, instant death. Shoot not-so-well, pain and suffering. Same than for a club. There's no surefire way of killing an animal - suffering is always possible. It's sad. It's how it is. A club looks like a primitive weapon, but it's just like a gun in terms of 'cruelty'.

Plus... read a bit on how chickens are killed so everyone can eat some buffalo wings or McNuggets. You'll find clubbing pretty damn compassionate after that.

Between you and I, dying instantly from a club to the head verson being beheaded after being paralyzed but not incapaciated by high voltage? Hmmm. Or maybe shot in the face. Either way, instant death, so I wouldn't notice anything.

Cammi? This is a *Canadian* forum. What did you expect?

In the first place I'd side with Canada on this one even if I had been born abroad, but really we have twice as many reasons to be pro-seal hunt since we're directly concerned by it.

Look if you're not used to your opinions being bombarded... I highly suggest you leave this place. It's gonna' get your blood boiling.
