OTTAWA -- The annual seal hunt is due to get underway Friday off the East Coast with new regulations in place, aimed at making the controversial kill more humane.

    so how is severing an artery and letting the animal bleed to death better then crushing its skull and killing it instantly???

    i thnk they do both newf, the artery is to make sure its dead

    before they skin it. article mentioned 'extra' distance.
