Lengthy debate over Canada's role in Afghanistan could put its soldiers increasingly at risk as the Taliban perceive the country as a "weak link," Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Rick Hillier said Friday.

    Odious, despotic governments, terrorists always prosper when weak, corrupt, liberal or leftist leaders/governments are in power. Three examples leap in to mind:
    The Betrayal of Czechloslovakia by the British (yes and others) under Neville Chamberlain;

    The rise of Osama bin Laden under Bill Clinton (who knew and did precious little...yeah vote for Hillary)

    The installation of the Taliban by Benhazir Bhuto's government...again a Clinton doozy.

    Point is, we can act or stare at our navels and wring our hands, too afraid that we might "offend" somebody....somewhere. Don't get me wrong, Islamic terrorists are never gonna rule the world, but the will enable the left to take our liberty. By acting I mean an all out effort, diplomatic, economic, humanitarian and yes, militarily. We cannot afford to half ass this. I encourage everyone to read about what happened in Beslan and what Mr. Bin Laden said about it for us! They will come for our children, women and liberty if we let them...it's our call, what will we do?

    "They will not come to their senses unless the attacks fall on their heads and ... until the battle has moved inside America (through Canada most likely)" --Osama Bin Laden

    Ah, the old "the media is making it worse" chestnut.

    There's a simple solution there. Shut down the media and have the news about the war come the PMO. I'm sure Dear Leader Harper would prefer that arrangement.

    Taliban sees weakness or a lack of resolve on the mission so they step up attacks against Canadians. More Canadian soldiers get killed and the Canadian media parades that as top storie, then the CBC and other pet media bring in talking heads from the Senlis Council or some leftist professor with an anti-American axe to grind.

    Net result is Canadians are spoon fed the taliban story because Canadins don't believe the government because the past governments always lie to them. All the work to tell Canadians that our troops are doing good work is lost or being minimized by our own national broadcaster and so many usefull idiots.
