Nothing new, every month is the same story. Burning of a Embassy, violence, riots. This entire thing is getting a bit tiering now.

The reality is that these embassey attacks despite being styled as NGO attacks are in reality staged by the host governements justas the Iranian Embassey attack was a Iranian government action. The host government is responsible for security of foreign missions. Any claim for government innocence is fradualent.

I doubt it, I'm pretty sure the people behind this are "pissed off Serbs"

If a country supported the breakup of your nation you'd be pissed at them too.

Yeah most imperial empire resented losing their subject peoples.....the Ottomans, the Russians, The French, the Austrians, the Brits, the Romans...

This was not a spontaneous popular event but rather a staged, orchestrated event. The security forces conveniently arrived the embassey was breached, vandalized and set afire.

Precisely. When we entered the war in 1998/1999 we entered on the wrong side.

Albanians immigrated into Yugoslavia in large numbers after WW2 to escape from the Maoist Albanian regime and then when communism collapsed they decided to claim Kosovo for Albania.

This current "independent" Kosovo will soon annex itself to Albania to prove what I'm saying. And if you look at the proposed Kosovo flag you'll see it is an Albanian flag derivative.

I'd be pissed if the UN had California secede and the new California flag had a Mexican eagle device on it to make it clear the alignment and intentions of the new 'nation'.

Kosovo independence is a crime. I'm siding with the Serbs and the Russians on this one.

The NATO-UN sponsored partition of Serbia was an act of war. It should have been expected that people would be upset by that.

I agree, after watching CTV news today they had several experts and talked about this a lot. And it seems that they will just join Albania. And only a small number of the worls nations have supported this independance, most have not. including the United Nations which has a resolution stating Kosovo is part of Serbia. I think the point people bring up that Kosovo is not a viable economic state is reason enough not to seperate, but is also more proof they will join Albania.

The domino effect is also happening, Northern Kosovo is ready to declare they are indipendant from Kosovo to join back with Serbia, and some part of Bosnia is ready to declare indipendance to join Serbia. What a mess and I think it was wrong for the US to support this.

Exactly, I know Canada is currently "undecided" which I think is a pretty good position. Supporting it is just wrong and in my opinion we should play no part in it. We (as NATO) stepped in to stop a fight, we did not step in to breakup a country. It's a touchy subject but Serbia has every right to be pissed right now and I can't blame them

Hang on a second, why was that Embassy ungaurded? A U.S. one expecially. There was 0 people in it? A little odd? Usually theres what guarding a Embassy, Soldiers? or atleast security guards.

Wow...so many Canadians are in support of Serbs torching the embassy of our ally and friend... I wonder if your province ever encounters a disaster will you be calling China or Russia for aid?

One of the very reasons I sleep easy at night is knowing we share our border with an ally and friend who is always there when Canada is down and out...

I sleep easy knowing George Bush is President of the United States and he is one of the few leaders in the world taking a stand against international thugs and punks in a effort to make this a much better world...

Yet most of the world will take a stand against America and Bush on key political topics like Iraq, Kyoto, global warming, etc.... I will not stand idly by and allow our American friends to be so easily betrayed by "fear weather friends"...
