Stéphane Dion has apparently apologized Thursday for saying the prime minister's spokesman was involved in extortion, the same day the spokesman accused the Liberal leader of defaming him.

Is there an English language translation of the CBC report? The article says:
"Soudas and Leo Housakos, a longtime Tory supporter and party organizer in Quebec, were the subjects this week of a joint investigation by the Globe and Mail and Radio-Canada.

The report, which aired on the CBC's French-language service Tuesday night, alleged Soudas directly intervened on behalf of Rosdev Group, a Montreal real estate developer currently involved in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit with the Public Works Department over the management of two office buildings that house thousands of civil servants.

The report also said that Housakos intervened directly with the Public Works Department."

This is serious. Before you start criticizing what Stéphane Dion said, ask what Dimitri Soudas is actually guilty of doing.

Is this more of "my big fat greek conspiracy" again?
If it was important, it would be in English.

serious ? as serious as the sponsorship scandal was .

it seems like some in media or opposition are trying to dig up stories about conservatives just to make them look bad .

when did they ever look into all the things chetien was accused of doing at that golf course in his riding ?

    dig up stories ?

think its been the media doing the diging . but what else do they and the opposition have to do or going for them.

its not like they could do a positive story on dion as leader .

Dion has become a national embarrassment to the Liberal party if a general election was held they would lose more seats then before. The only chance the Liberal party has is kicking Dion to the curb then having John Manley become the next Leader, easier said then done..

that is an intersting idea , but i doubt it would ever happen and liberals are likely annoyed over his afgahnistan report . and a few other liberals want the job as well so that complicates things .

but for now dion will get one chance at an election then how knows depending on results .

Dion is useless as Layton is when it comes to being the leader of a party. The Liberals are the ones who started Canada's Mission in Afghanistan, so instead of acting like the spoiled brats they've become since losing power going against the Mission they need to suck it up accept the Manley report and recruit him to be their next leader or they don't have a chance in hell..
