Great example to set, mom. Instead of teaching your daughter about humour beyond "knock knock" jokes, teach her to push away things she doesn't like, and make sure nobody else gets to have any fun either. You get the Mom of the Year award! Prize: a bunch of sour grapes.

I've read some of the material the mom was complaining about and I have to say I agree with her. Much of the material is meant to be humorous but it shouldn't be marketed to kids under a certain age. The cartoon characters throw allot of people off and they think it's simply a kid’s book when it's not. If it were my 8 year old I wouldn't want her readin it either.

When I was a child the comic strip "POGO" was in the newspaper.....it was US political commentary........
