Please be advised that the weather in Meadowbank continues to hinder all operations on site.the. Storms are into the 7th day of this. We have no outside contact other than phones and emails. People are trapped in Thompson, Yellowknife, Winnipeg. Please be patient about your return to work, I am doing all that can be done at this time. The plan is to bring 6 more to the site as soon as weather permits, and have a full replacement crew ready for the 5th of February. I understand your concerns and we are doing the best we can to bring all employees back to the site as soon as possible. Please be patient and Thank you.

The frozen food would have been the first to go,they love fast food.

Everyone smokes, even the kids, thats one thing they would never run out of.

Most of those towns have a community meat bank where the hunters take their excess game so no one would ever starve.

Everything has to come in by plane, theres no roads to any of those towns. The northern store in Baker is probably scrapeing off the ice for a hercules to land as I type this as the only airstrip that can take a 707 is Rankin.

I left Jan. 8th and there was about 70 people heading to camp, mostly office staff. Most are from Quebec and think of this as an adventure.I bet the adventure ended about day 3 of the blizzard.
    Welcome to the Arctic.
From what I've heard the incinolater toilets(they electrocute and cook your steamer)are down and now their back to the old way....a 5 gallon bucket with a garbage bag in it.

Those outdoor shitters sometimes get drifted in....on the inside!
Hope they like the adventure, hope they got some seats for those shitters.
