To force an election or not to force an election. That is the question Liberal MPs are pondering as they prepare for next week's resumption of Parliament.

the fact still remains that the Tories haven't done anything that deserves to be defeated. And, the Liberals aren't as high in the polls as they would like.

they have not done anything by normal standards that is worthly of defeating a government over and whatever mulroney did a decade ago really is old news .

so basically the liberals , ndp and bloc will be forcing an election over very little and for the sake of trying to grab power or in bloc's case disrupt the normal business of federal government .

The Liberal party, at best is like a herd of wildebeests, without direction or purpose on their own, but ready to stampede in whatever direction the majority move. It's the role of the leader to lead, and it's no surprise that Dion is sending such mixed and confusing signals.

Nice leader you guys got there.

Not likely! Harper would never give LIBRANO MP's permission to speak to the press----regardless their need for leadership

Unless something turns the political climate in another direction - like the economy - the polls are going to continue to show the tories in the 34-37% range and the Libs 30-33%. An election will just give us what we have right now.

The economy? My sense is that people would regard Harper to be a better steward in this regard. If that becomes an issue the CPC benefits.

on the economy , sure there is uncertainty but its coming from the states and not because of anything our government has done wrong , i'd say there were lots of possitives in last few budgets and stock market has been historically viotile last few years , so that is nothign new . the question is will market stay down or will it improve over time .

and the lower dollar is a good thing as it was too high and hurting manufacturing .

the libs are far from indecisive mtbr... they are concerned about the coming recession and economic down turn.. they are right to hang on.. the tide will turn and the people of canada will lay blame where it belongs on the current government policy or lack there of.. many people are going to lose in the next while from the american recession.. they are saying the economic policies of the tories will have a negative impact.. so I guess the liberals are not so dumb eh?
