feel sorry for her constitunets who will now have to go thru a another by-election after the federal one . as she is a current saskatchewan mla .

and as for orchard he does seem to always get screwed and this time by a fellow saskatchewan liberal in ralph goodale who did not want him to run.

and as for ndp this kind of thing is bad news as it shows ndp people are willing to run to liberals instead of staying with ndp . actaully think she would of had better chance of winning this riding as ndp candidate than a liberal . that area of northern saskatchwan has been more historically ndp and rarely liberal at federal or provincial level .

    Because Orchard is a screwball.

The sane people in all the political parties in Saskatchewan know this.

but dion was willing to except orchards help during the leadership race , what does this say of dions integrity when he goes and screws the people who supported him ?

and also there was no nomination meeting in this riding , dion simply appointed a candidate , does stephane dion really know better than liberal riding asociation ?

Wow. If the CPC appointed a candidate, they'd be slagged for being control freaks.

    I love this line:

Beatty said her continued desire to make a positive change for the north, particularly the people of northern Saskatchewan, is why she decided to join the Liberals.

Yeah, because you can see the improvements these last 2 Liberal governments made to northern Sask.

Peter McKay and Mulroney did the exact same thing to Orchard when McKay won the PC leadership. Mulroney called Orchard during the nomination convention and brokered a deal with Orchard saying the PCs would never merge with the Reform Party if Orchard supported McKay. And we all know how that turned out.

Frankly, I have more respect for Dion for doing this. It makes him look less of a candy-ass wuss.

Ah, big deal. The Federal Tory party interferes in nomination races. So do the knee-dippers.

its so not fair that dion can get away with stuff like this , it will be interesting how the riding actually reacts to this and the added provincial by-election .
also be interesting to see what david orchard does or if he runs somewhere else .

and what have the liberals ever done for this riding , they only picked it up back in 2000 by defection of ndp mp . its really not a liberal area historically or provincially . and don't even get me started on the odd doing of last vote if liberals even really won .

makes him look like less of a candy ass ? well i think it also makes his party look alot less democratic as well and that isn't a good thing .

dion shouldn't personally be deciding who should run , it should be up to the riding association and people who actually live in the riding .
