Sounds like this thief was on a role!

Chances are, they won't catch the culprit who did
    it.

Yes of course this is righteous. Instead of dealing with the 'dickhead" cop, you condone theft. next time I have a problem with my doctor I'll just steal something of his. Or the insurance agent, and also the imbeciles who work at Loblaws.

Way to go arsehole, condoning theft because you don't like cops. PDT_Armataz_01_35

A few years ago we had our dressing room robbed. One of my chums is a judge and had his "judge" ID taken along with some money. It was a couple kids who later bragged what they had........and that's what got them caught.

They won't. A cop's badge would bring major heat. If they don't toss it, they'll keep it as their own personal badge of (dis)honor.

You assume they are going to fence the stolen badges. :?

If the thieves are brazen enough to steal from the police, I worry what else that are willing to do.

Take one for the team, and go catch a bullet.I didn't realise your name was Meaden? Or do we have multiple user names?

No my bad. (no multiple user names, check IP)

Besides, I worry that these criminals may tarnish the reputation of the officers they ripped off.

This was a big problem in Texas, you never really trusted the cops and always made sure you stopped in a well lighted area.

Some folks drove cars that looked like cop cars, pulled you over and robbed you.

I hope they catch these fuckers, and soon.

To many crimes in Canada are starting to resemble those in the USA.
