PORT COQUITLAM/CKNW(AM980) - Corrections BC has begun an internal review after a Persian gangster escaped from the north Fraser pre-trial centre in Port Coquitlam last night.
"We've assisted the RCMP with any and all information required and have initiated an internal review because clearly we want to know how this happened and anything that we can find that will prevent a similar event from occurring." Corrections BC spokesperson Lisa Lapointe, who says no disciplinary action has been taken against any guards.
"No suspensions. There would be regular shift change, managers were at the centre all night last night initiating the investigation, people will be questioned, tapes will be reviewed, and there will be a thorough analysis of how this might have happened."
Omeet Tahvilli is the first inmate ever to escape the north Fraser pre-trial centre since it opened in 2001.
He was awaiting sentencing on a number of convictions including kidnapping, unlawful confinement, sexual assault, and assault causing bodily harm.
Oh well this should save the taxpayer a loonie or two.
This sweetheart has likely fled abroad saving us the cost of deporting him or his associates have already dumped his corpse in the Fraser or Burard Inlet.

I am hoping his ass gets dumped in the river. A gift for Canadians.
According to the news this morning no one's ever escaped from this prison before, so they started looking for inside help and voila the RCMP reported that they had arrested one of the guards in connection with the escape.
I guess he wanted a bigger xmas bonus than the Gov't was willing to give him.
