Not that I care for Chavez's politics but he is free to speak his mind and it seems others were doing it as well. If I were Venezuelan I'd have been proud of having the leader of my country stand up for us in that manner, and expect him to do it. Screw all that playing nice, politically correct pomp and circumstance horseshit. Tell it like it is.
Carlos needs to recognise his place like Liz does in England, stay the fuck out of these things and let the Prime Minister deal with it like she does. The monarchy is no longer relevant except to make appearances for some fake pagentry publicity ceremonies.

The theme of this year's 22-nation summit was "social cohesion".

Still, Chavez tends to overdo it when it comes to being a shit disturber.

All strong leaders do it xerxes.

Reagan sure didn't mind stirring it up.
Bush Jr's sabre rattling happens on a regular basis.
Harper's not afraid to stir shit up.
Even Trudeau didn't care who he pissed off.

That's why Martin's no longer Prime Minister and why Joe Clark would never have made it as a PM.
    They weren't strong leaders.

fuck...he's not a strong leader, he's an obnoxious megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur, who threatens and intimidates anyone who disagrees with him(he's the ideal example of a left wing tyrant in the making). He's a poseur and nothing more.

Your political bias is showing there Dog.

If you honestly believe that's the case then you must think Bush and Harper both are poseurs as well.
The comparisons can easily be made in both cases.

I've never said bush wasn't a bit of a bully. But then, are students beaten in the US for expressing a dislike for the policies of GW? And, there is no indication that GW is trying to set himself up for a life in office either, unlike Chavez.
I've commented that Harper, an economist are people who are good with numbers but don't have the personality to make it as an accountant. So how are my biases showing, when many lefties have expressed a dislike for Chavez too?

You'd expect your leader to act like a pompous jackass windbag, interrupting anyone who he didn't agree with after he'd been given ample opportunity to speak?

Perhaps you've never read Spanish history. I doubt you have. If Juan Carlos was the kind of person to "stay the fuck out," there'd be a military dictatorship in Spain.

There's been numerous occasions over the years with students in the U.S being beaten for protesting.

    "four dead in Ohio,"
    "Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,"

    Ring any bells?

That's not something that's restricted to commies, tinpot dictators and radical Islamic governments.

And, there is no indication that GW is trying to set himself up for a life in office either, unlike Chavez.
And that has to do with being a stong leader how? I never suggested Bush was a military dictator. Although I'm sure leftists see him as such.

I've commented that Harper, an economist are people who are good with numbers but don't have the personality to make it as an accountant. So how are my biases showing, when many lefties have expressed a dislike for Chavez too?
And many righties have expressed a dislike for Bush too..

Your biases are showing because you automatically jumped all over Chavez because of his politics.

Harper's not afraid to speak his mind and GOOD on him for it.
Reagan put and end to the cold war because he spoke his mind.
Bush has done it his entire term in office.
Chavez is no different in that regard. He's not afraid to tell it like it is, even if he pisses off a lot of people that disagree with his politics.
The only difference is one is a commie and the others are right wing Conservative.

Like I said, I might not agree with Chavez's politics, but he is a strong leader.

Chavez is an ass, not because of his opinions but the way he goes about expressing them. He shouts over others and constantly interrupts. If being obnoxiously loud, lacking in manners and having no sense of decorum is a strong leader to you, then I guess this bellicose little twit is your guy. He's cut from the same cloth as Il Duce (bag), der Fuhrer and Krusty Kruschev

Kind of ironic though that it was a military dictator (Franco) much like Chavez that declared Carlos should succeed him upon his death..
