Such a tragedy. And I'm a little surprised to see it was a Cane Corso. They're supposed to be a good family dog. But from the sounds of it, the owner was an asshole.

I've heard the exact opposite for Cane Corsos. They are a guard dog. They will guard their territory to the death. Even from their 'owner'. I've heard stories of them not allowing their owner in or our of the house. Beautiful creatures. Utterly terrifying.

They are very high energy, and unless they are socialized heavily they can become absolute beasts. And reports that this owner did not socialize them, and let them run loose all the time. Just like most other dogs, they need direction because they can get out of hand quickly.

I love dogs, but would never try to own one of those.
